Since 1891, Catholic Charities has been providing help and creating hope to those in need, regardless of their faith. Through its four divisions, Elderly and Family Assistance Services; Immigration and Legal Services; Professional Counseling and Children's Services; and Refugee and Empowerment Services, Catholic Charities serves over 50,000 people each year.

Catholic Charities provides nutrition, social services and recreational activities to Dallas' residents over the age of 60. Bilingual staff members coordinate a wide variety of activities and services for those who are enrolled. Transportation is available. Also offered are:

Catholic Charities recognizes the plight of those living in poverty. Assistance in the form of food, clothing, and financial assistance are available to eligible persons living in certain zip codes. Services offered include:
- Emergency Assistance
- Food Pantries
- Thrift Stores

Catholic Charities, in collaboration with the North Texas Food Bank, provides supplemental food to children up to age 6, pregnant women, postpartum women to one year, and older adults who live in Dallas County each month. In 2007 there were 91,236 boxes of food distributed within Dallas County totaling 2,737,080 pounds of food. Services offered include:
- Supplemental Food Provision
- Home Delivery, if needed
- Nutritional Education

Catholic Charities, in collaboration with the Asset Building Coalition of Dallas, provides free tax assistance to elderly and low-income families from January to May each year. Catholic Charities completed 439 tax returns in 2009, with a total tax refund return to the community of over $401,000. This money is an important asset for struggling families as well as a significant contribution to the local economy.
